The chills caused by the eponymous album VoX LoW five years ago finally have a sequel, Keep on Falling: a work which not only extends the hypnotic cold wave aesthetic of the Parisian duo, but adds a minimalism which advantageously nourishes its acute sense of tension.
The motorik bias, with an impeccable rhythm section, lays the foundations for music that is as obscure as it is powerful. VoX LoW brings us to our knees, under the influence of a haunting sound, of a wonderfully unhealthy universe where the onslaught of machines ends up enslaving us. However, this monochrome universe is full of subtle melodies and industrial compositions where vintage keyboards express themselves with palpable humanity. The song retains a coldness which serves the purpose and links to the whole without standing out.
In addition to placing VoX LoW among the best cold wave bands of the moment, Keep on Falling marks a formal step which strengthens the already very strong identity of the group. Dark and addictive, therefore essential!
